Drive The Globe Inc. was founded in 1996 by Michael Ladden and Paul Shumway while bouncing along in the back of an old military Land Rover.  Both Michael and Paul were Land Rover buffs and together they dreamed up a “trip of a lifetime” across Africa utilizing vintage Land Rovers. Thus began an epic adventure that today provides the foundation for our company and continues to encourage our original motto: “The Adventure is not the Destination… It is the Journey. “

Overland Expeditions:

Much has evolved since then.  The original concept though has not changed.  Today, Drive The Globe has become a leading authority on overland travel. Our business still revolves around travel to faraway places, whether they have names like Timbuktu or Zanzibar or they are places like Tuktoyaktuk where temperatures of fifty below zero must be endured.
